You can't play a .torrent file because it isn't a video file. You need to download a BitTorrent client that will then use the .torrent file to download the .avi. (It sounds complicated, but it really isn't.) You can use this one, or you can do a google search for "bittorrent client" and pick from a plethora of choices.
There's no way DB can provide everyone with direct downloads, it's just impossible. Also, BitTorrent is actually lightning fast if you configure everything correctly. If BitTorrent is really slow for you, it's probably your router settings.
No, DB isn't here to do BitTorrent tech support. Try googling for a BitTorrent FAQ.
No. If the tracker is really down, I promise you we've noticed, and if by some odd chance we haven't already noticed, we've already gotten 1000 messages about it. If you normally have no trouble connecting and are suddenly having issues, then load the torrent and just relax and be patient. The download will start.
No. Clearly if other downloads are completing, the problem is NOT on our end. Sending us a complaint will only annoy us.
After you finish crying, you can try joining #db on irc.animenfo.com and checking out the topic. Generally there are some direct downloads listed there. DB does not directly provide these downloads so don't blame us for any problems.
DB no longer has any bots in its IRC channel, so there is no way to download from DB via IRC.
If you really are banned, you won't be able to see the site, read this FAQ, or leave us feedback. So if you're reading this, you're lucky enough to be not banned. For now, anyway.
There is nothing wrong with our file. You don't have the correct codec to play it.
All of DB's files play on VLC player, with no additional codecs needed. Please note that VLC is a PLAYER, and not a "CODEC PACK", therefore after installing it you will need to use it to play back the file, not the player you used prior to installing VLC. (If our episodes do not play on VLC, please do not write us to complain. The issue is with your system and we cannot fix it for you.)Or, you can download and install the proper codec.
Bleach and Naruto episodes up to and including Naruto Shippuuden 53 are encoded with XViD. They will also play if you install ffdshow. Naruto Shippuuden episodes from 54 and Bleach episodes from 167 on are encoded with h.264. You will need a h.264 decoder installed. DB strongly recommends using Media Player Classic - HomeCinema for playing back h.264 material as the required decoder is built in, and does not require installation of any external codec packs. Alternatively, for slow systems, CoreAVC decoder is recommended for playback. This decoder is not free. DB does not support or recommend installing "codec packs" in order to view our releases. Complaning about non-working files, as usual, leads to a ban.
The problem is with the devices, not with our files. If you have an issue with your device contact that manufacturer. We aren't going to change the way we encode our files so don't bother asking.
Get a better TV. You don't see subs because of overscan. Again, the issue is not with our file.
