Yes, it is. As of February 19, 2005. Now you heard it. If you ask this question in the channel, the contact page, or anywhere else we can track you down, you will be BANNED immediately.
Generally speaking, yes. Downloading fansubs, regardless of their license status is illegal in United States and various other countries. United States Code Title 17 does not allow distribution of copyrighted work by anyone except the copyright owner, and while others may claim that subtitling and distributing anime for entertainment purposes fits under the "fair use" exception, it most certainly does not.
DB has changed how it manages its channels. #db on irc.rizon.net is no longer an active channel. Do not join that channel. Instead, connect to irc.animenfo.com server and join #db there.
It means, "I'm gay."
Actually it means nothing at all. It's just
something random that Naruto adds onto the end of almost all of his lines to
annoy us. Please don't send us feedback telling us we're wrong because you've
taken 3 weeks of Japanese classes or read differently on
urbandictionary.com.
Naruto airs on Thursday at 7:27pm JST (Japan Standard Time).
Bleach airs on Wednesday at 7:27pm JST (Japan Standard Time).
We generally release within 20 hours of airing. It varies somewhat from week to week, but not a lot. If you really need to know, you can see exactly how long all of our episodes have been out on the BitTorrent page, so figure it out from there. If you ask us this in the channel, you will be BANNED.
You fucked up. You are banned. Now is your chance to cool down and try to rejoin the channel in 2 hours, when the ban will automatically expire. Messaging ops about removing the ban will only extend it. If you wish to get unbanned before 2 hours, you may choose to write a 1000 word (minimum) essay about what was wrong with your actions before you got banned. Submitting this essay to one of the ops might get you unbanned earlier.
Calm down. Chances are you aren't banned (unless you really did do something wrong). It sometimes takes a while to connect to the tracker, especially on nights when Naruto or Bleach is released. Just relax and be patient and you will eventually be able to download.
We weren't completely satisfied with v1, so we made a v2. Apply this rule as it is good for EVERY V2 YOU WILL EVER SEE.
Otherwise be happy with the v1.
We usually place a short summary of
differences between v1 and v2 into the torrent 'comment' field. If you don't
know what that is, hover over the filename of the v2 in question on the torrent
listing.
No, we are not missing episodes. What has happened is that a double episode has been misnamed. Do NOT send us feedback asking where these eps are. If you had put a little thought into it, we wouldn't need to be answering this question right now.
Try reading the credits. It makes us feel good.
Generally we are only recruiting translators, so unless you are a translator, the answer is no. We are always looking for Japanese to English translators. While we occasionally release non-English subs, we are currently NOT looking for Spanish / German / Dutch / Norwegian / Swedish translators, in other words, no languages with roman alphabet. We will review other translation offers on a case-by-case basis.
No. We don't appreciate when our quality work ends up recompressed and resized and uploaded to streaming video sites so that they can make a profit off our contents. Just don't do it. We don't care what kind of site it is. Flash video quality is shit, so we DON'T WANT OUR WORK THERE. Period. This is NOT up for discussion. This includes ALL streaming video sites, and not limited to Youtube and other "popular" ones. Including DivX Stage6, too. Also keep in mind that uploading these files to a streaming video site is copyright infringement.
You can LINK to our site, our torrent page, or directly to our .torrent files without problem. Don't ask us for banners or logos, what you see on the site is what we got. If you don't like that, link with a text link. Do NOT mirror our .torrent files, do NOT host our episodes "recompressed" / cut-up / streaming, etc. Naturally, you cannot charge your users for downloading any of our episodes.
You can't. DB doesn't accept donations.
You can't do that either. The downloads are available for free and no registration is required.
Do whatever you want, as long as it doesn't involve spam in the channel or bother operators. Also, asking the ops if "you can seed" will likely get you banned. You don't need our permission to seed. Download the torrent and have at it. If it takes you more than few hours to download our releases, your "seeding" ability is probably not worth wasting our valuable time on.
Same reason we don't want retards reloading the torrent page on a Monday morning - because our release schedule is easy enough to figure out without a RSS feed. That, and we don't want thousands of idiots reloading the RSS url every minute.
If you have to ask, the answer is no.
No. DB is not here to be your personal tech support team, so if you are having some weird computer issue, please do not send us feedback asking us to help.
Next time just download the torrent from our site. DB isn't responsible for what other sites do, even if they're using our name to get suckers like you to download.
Of course not, there are no girls on teh intarweb.
